On January 27, 2015, attorneys representing four young men, one from each state, including Florida,Connecticut, Maryland, and Ohio, filed personal injury lawsuits against Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, relating to Janssen’s manufacturing of Risperdal. The suits, filed in Pennsylvania — the home state of Janssen Pharmaceuticals — allege Risperdal is dangerous, and caused these for adolescent men todevelop Gynecomastia — a condition causing men develop breasts similar to women’s, in both size and shape.
According to the plaintiffs, Janssen Pharmaceuticals knew that Risperdal’s side effects included male breast development, but chose not to adequately inform or warn the physicians, the parents, and the adolescents taking the prescription. Therefore, when the parents gave consent for their sons to take this prescription, they were totally unaware Gynecomastia.
